    St. Lawrence of Brindisi Friary
    Assisted and Independent Living
    • Pictured above on the left is a typical bedroom with a full bathroom found in the section of our friary that offers caregivers 24/7. The more spacious rooms seen on the right are located in the Assisted Living quarters of the friary.
    • "Welcome to the Neighborhood"

A place to call home. That’s something all of us need and desire. St. Lawrence Friary is home to more than two dozen men who have lived their lives as priests and religious. Our family is composed of members from various congregations and priests from different dioceses––all with one purpose and intent––to continue living their God-given vocation to the best of their ability amidst the challenges and triumphs of our human condition.
    • Friendly Brothers

Don’t walk in front of me, I may not follow. Don’t walk behind me, I may not lead.

Just walk beside me and be my friend.

We all have something to contribute toward the betterment of society and to our local community. It doesn’t have to be grandiose or make headlines, but it is important and a necessary part of living. A handshake, a smile, a gentle word, an unseen act of kindness, are often the little things that make a big difference in people’s lives. The community of St. Lawrence strives to uphold and honor the inherent dignity of each and every person regardless of that person’s physical or mental condition. We are all created in the image and likeness of God; we are all gifts to one another.

    • Communal Dining

It goes without saying that food is an essential part of living. Our meal times are more than simply enjoying a fine cuisine prepared by professionals; it is an important time for building relationships, discussing the day’s events, and taking part in the sometimes spirited banter between members.

  • Various Options based on Need

    • Life is a series of new beginnings. We are constantly transitioning from one stage to another, and with each new phase comes a different set of needs and requirements. “A time to scatter stones, and a time to gather... (Ecclesiastes 3:5).” Change is never easy, but having different options made available based on personal needs is a source of comfort and reassurance.

    Assisted Living
    • There comes a time when we need that little extra help with the ordinary activities of everyday life. Maybe our balance is not what it used to be, or we get out of breath more easily, whatever our current health issues are, its good to know that there are people at St. Lawrence Friary who are willing and able to assist.

With the entire facility being wheelchair accessible, no one should feel excluded.

  • Promoting health of mind, body, and soul

    • Community living, daily celebration of the Eucharist, Liturgy of the Hours and other devotions, common meals and recreation, exercise room, library, and the beautiful countryside––all contribute to an atmosphere of wholeness and well-being.

    • Why do we hope to see you? Because we have something special to offer, something that is not so easily found, something that is precious and sacred. We hope to see you because we would be happy to have you become part of our family with your own unique history, gifts and talents.

Inspired by the life of St. Francis of Assisi, we the
Capuchin Franciscan Friars Province of the Sacred Stigmata of St. Francis,
joyfully observe a life of simplicity, guided by contemplative prayer and brotherhood,
that we may better embrace the Gospel and minister to others, preferentially to the poor and marginalized.
